This online screen recorder captures your entire screen, a single window or one browser tab, with sound, straight from the browser. Choose whether to include tab or system audio and your microphone, click Start, pick what to share in the browser's dialog, and after an optional countdown it records until you click Stop or end the share. There is no extension or app to install, no watermark and no time limit.
The recording is made by your browser's own MediaRecorder and stays on your device. Chrome and Edge 126 or newer and Safari can record MP4 directly; otherwise you get a WebM, which the tool can convert to MP4 locally with ffmpeg.wasm (a one-time 32 MB engine download). Screen capture needs a desktop browser: iPhone and iPad Safari and most Android browsers do not let websites record the screen, so on a phone use the system screen recorder instead.
How to use
- Choose the audio sources (tab/system audio, microphone), the format, quality and countdown.
- Click Start recording. In the browser's dialog, choose a tab, a window or the entire screen. For sound from a tab, tick Share tab audio.
- Record. Use Pause and Resume to leave parts out; the timer counts only recorded time.
- Click Stop (or the browser's Stop sharing button). The recording appears with a player.
- Download it, or convert a WebM to MP4. Trim or compress it with the related tools if needed.
Frequently asked questions
Can I record my screen with audio?
Yes, with limits set by the browser and operating system. In Chrome and Edge, recording a tab can include that tab's audio (tick Share tab audio in the picker), and on Windows and ChromeOS sharing the entire screen can include system audio. On macOS, system-wide audio sharing depends on the browser and macOS version, so a tab is the reliable choice. Firefox and Safari record video only, without screen audio. Your microphone can be added in every browser.
Does it work on iPhone or Android?
No. iOS and iPadOS Safari do not support screen capture by websites (the getDisplayMedia API), and neither do most Android browsers. Use the built-in screen recorder instead: on iPhone, add Screen Recording to Control Centre; on Android, use the Screen record tile in Quick Settings.
Is there a watermark or time limit?
Neither. The recording is made by your browser and saved straight to your device. The practical limit is memory: the recording is held in the tab until you download it, at roughly 20–60 MB per minute depending on the quality preset.
Should I record in MP4 or WebM?
MP4 if your browser offers it: it plays everywhere, including iPhones, PowerPoint and most video editors. WebM (VP9) is slightly more efficient and plays in all major browsers and VLC, but some editors and Apple apps do not open it. If you record WebM, Convert to MP4 fixes that. Chrome can also record H.264 into an MKV file; converting that to MP4 only rewraps the video, so it takes seconds.
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. Nothing leaves your device: the browser records into memory and you download the file directly. MP4 conversion also runs locally; only the ffmpeg engine is downloaded once from the jsDelivr CDN.
Tab, window or entire screen
• A browser tab: sharpest text, can include the tab's audio, and notifications from other apps never appear. Best for web app demos and recording a video call in a browser tab.
• A window: one application; other windows that overlap it are not captured on most systems. Usually no audio.
• Entire screen: everything, including notifications, so turn on Do Not Disturb first. System audio is available on Windows and ChromeOS in Chrome and Edge.
Tip: Chrome shows a Stop sharing bar; it ends the recording cleanly too.
Browser support
• Chrome and Edge (desktop): screen, window and tab capture, tab audio, system audio on Windows/ChromeOS, MP4 recording from version 126.
• Firefox (desktop): screen and window capture, no screen audio; records WebM.
• Safari (macOS): screen and window capture, no screen audio; records MP4.
• iOS/iPadOS and Android browsers: no screen capture for websites.
